In Which I Repurpose This Blog

This blog started oh so very long ago as my official Internet Studies blog. That was way back when- before my second diagnosis of major depression, before I left ASU to come home and go to community college, before I threw in the towel on the whole college thing altogether (for the time being). In the intervening years, a lot has happened. Still, not much has changed. I'm still the same indecisive dilettante, puttering around. A young woman of quick enthusiasms, usually as quickly forgotten, trying to find a few strengths to carry her through in the "real world" without giving up her preferred habitat of dreams.

So this blog is being repurposed. Here you will find the miscellanea of my life- links, reviews, recipes, rants, even (perhaps) my attempts to finish a story- any story.

My life is not particularly exciting or interesting. I'm an above-average person living a very average life. I have (and let's just get this out of the way right now) an IQ of 142, and I'm a waitress (and arrogant, and violently insecure). I've never been anywhere exotic. I've never even left North America, although I have left the United States. I live with my parents and our two cats, and have a social life best described as "practically nonexistant". One of my dearest friends is at law school in Virginia, another is studying abroad in Japan, and I spend most of my free time hoping to catch one of them online and reading. And reading, and reading, and reading. I cannot label myself a bibliophile, precisely- it is not books I love, but the stories they contain. To be sure, a book is a lovely thing (especially when they have that lovely freshly-printed smell), but their value to me is in the words coming alive and the worlds they take me to.

But for now, dear reader, the time has come for us to part.
Until we meet again,

Adieu
